Richard's Story

Life At 40, I'm still fulfilling the goals that I've set at a young age. I've written a book on my passion of "documentation" for technical people. It was published in January of 2005. The title of the book is "The NuneX Method" and can be found in Amazon.com and other on-line book stores. The ISBN number is: 0595325858. You can also do a search on Google for "The NuneX Method" and you'll find it pretty quickly. I am currently working on some more books, but more on personal and not technical matters. I've also started a new career path in IT - that of a Database Administrator. I previously spent most of my career in computer and networking services. I now have more than 20 years working in the IT field and most of that in the Healthcare areas. I have a beautiful wife and daughter - I call them "my reason for reasons" and go back to Fabens about once every quarter. I miss my old friends and still "dream" about my life in Fabens. I often wonder what has happended to many of my friends that I grew up with, esp. with my old "girlfriends" ;-) After thinking about it many times, I'm grateful for growing up in...Expand for more
Fabens, the small town ethics have helped my career and my attitude toward life in general. I hope one day to reunite with all my old buddies and get together once again with the musicians I used to "jam" with. I still play the guitar and drums but not as good as I used to. School I miss High School - it went by so fast I feel I didn't get to enjoy myself to the fullest. I was too busy studying and working my ass off to be the best and top dog that I didn't enjoy it. I wished I had taken time to "smell the roses" instead of being so preoccupied with with my future. College My college life was crazy. I started out at El Paso Community College, then went to UTEP, didn't like UTEP so I went to a trade school Western Technical Institute (WTI) in El Paso. Graduated at WTI with an Associates in Microcomputer Technology and worked for several years in computer service companies. In about 1996 I went back to school to get my bachelor's degree at University of Phoenix. I graduated after 2 years of working full-time, being engaged, and commuting to school/work with a degree in Business and Information Technology.
