Richard's Story
After high school, I went to Shasta JR. College for two yrs. Got a draft notice in 1969. But joined the Air Force instead....guess I showed them? Went to Mt. Home AFB ID. 2 yrs. Vietnam, Phan Rang, NKP Thailand 1yr. Carswell AFB. Tex. 2 yrs. Went to RAF. Mildenhall, England for 5 yrs. Then returned in 1979. Stationed at Travis AFB, Cal. for 2 yrs. Then went to Anderson AFB, Guam for 2 yrs. Then to Ellsworth AFB. SD. for 2 yrs. Got a remote assignment to PEOTF416, Port Sudan, Sudan. 1985-86. Returned to Castle AFB, Cal. Where I retired in 1989. ( 20 yrs. 28 days ) But who was counting.

chool Bus shop manger for 7 yrs. for Laidlaw Trans. Moved to Or. in 1996. Worked for Railroad sub contractors for 8 yr. Putting in new signal systems, gates, flashing lights etc. Where I did some more traveling. Or., Wash, Fl. 2 yrs. Ohio, Ill, Cal. and quit...not for the lack of travel. Twenty years have passed sense I retired from the AF. But it has gone a lot faster. Got my 2nd SSI check now im retired for sure. I just got approved for a VA lone to buy another house. The first house my ex of 17 yrs. got it. .I have 10 Grand Kids now & one great grandson.
