Richard's Story

I attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois and graduated Cum laude in June, 1969. Being in ROTC for 4 years, I was commissioned as an officer in the Medical Service Corps, The first year in the military found me as company commander of the hospital enlisted personnel at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. For my second year I found myself as personnel officer (military and civilian) and company commander at 3rd Surgical Hospital in South Vietnam. sity of Colorado Medical School and was selected as outstanding student in my 3rd year there. I graduated with my Doctor of Medicine degree and joined an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program in Phoenix. I have been board=certified in OB-GYN since and have been in both private practice and teaching in a residency program since then. I have participated in 6 Latin American Christian medical missions programs. For 47 years I have been happily married to the same wonderful woman. We have 4 very successful daughters (all with Master's degrees) and 9 energetic grandchildren. I am currently enjoying retired life with my family in Arizona.
