Richard's Story
On graduation after an interesting and educational experience concerning short intensive imbibement of certain alcoholic beverages and subsequent introduction to certain members of the circular porcelain family, I entered college and studied binge drinking and midnight golfing and handball by the dim headlights of my VW van, a trusty study aid if I do say so myself. The afore mentioned being my undisputed major, I had minored in sociology with less than spectacular results.
At the end of that semester I was advised that my best course of action might be changing my venue to studies under the care and guidence of a certain branch of the uniformed services. an Diego where I found that shipbuilding was the life for me, at least for a time. When they brought the Valdez home and stuck her up on the building ways I found that I had had enough. It wasn't her fault she'd been spec'd with a single instead of double hull. Nore was it her fault her " captain " was drunk leaving a man unqualified crewman to run her aground instead of staying in a clearly designated channel out of that port of call.
So I bought a tractor and hauled boats hither and yon across this wonderfully diverse continent until an interesting chain of events left me with various broken body parts and a disability that continues to this day. I look forward to seeing the people I knew while I was at Hoover. Even though I stayed pretty much a loner, I very much enjoyed my time there.
