Richard's Story
I lived the life of a ski bum in Boulder for four years and somehow obtained a business degree from the University of Colorado. Mike Chott was attending CSU and helped me along the way. I found myself in the city of Des Moines, Iowa in the fall of 77’ and somehow got into Drake Law school. Didn’t learn much about law, but fell in love with Leslie Wilkins (the smartest person I have ever met). We got married after graduation, honeymooned on Maui and never found our way back to the mainland. I served as a Prosecutor on Maui for 11 years. (Go figure, the guy that was voted most likely to turn out to be a criminal in H.S. ends up putting the bad guys in jail for over a decade.. t criminal case ever where DNA evidence was admitted through FBI witnesses in a sex assault case. Please excuse the bragging. Which brings me to the end of this narrative and I will brag about our brilliant daughter Jordan. She has graduated from the University of Redlands (in Southern California) and is thinking about law school. Finally, I have been fortunate to have maintained a friendship with Mike Chott all of these years.. We were able to ski together at Big Bear two seasons ago and he and his entire family (wife, three children, two married and one girl friend and one grandchild all were on Maui for fun in the sun and water.
