Richard's Story
In 2016 we bought a home in a 55+ Community in the southern part of Sacramento. Downsizing after 49 years of marriage is not the easiest thing to do. My older Brother, Bill and my youngest Sister, Mary Ellen and now my Sister Carol have all passed away in the past 10 years. Only Shirley and myself are the remaining siblings of John W. and C.Opal Rankin.
I celebrated my 75 Birthday in February.
I retired from Lockheed Martin in 2001.(actually, I worked for 34 years for 6 different Companies and numerous Divisions and "never left my desk"). (Name Changes, Bu...Expand for more

I met my wife, Gwen (from Kailua, Hawaii) when I took a job in Thailand after I finished my tour of duty with the Army in Vietnam.
My wife and I moved from the Bay Area to Sacramento in 2007.
We moved near our youngest son, his wife and 2 children.
We have a daughter in Chicago with her husband and daughter and a son and his wife and his two daughters still live in Santa Clara.
Gwen is originally from Hawaii so we visit her family as often as possible.
I have traveled to 41 States, 20 Countries (lived a year or more in 2) and 2 US possessions.
