Richard's Story
Hi. I'd like to share the following experience: Last November I had the very good fortune to attend the 2nd annual Warren High School Hall of Fame induction. There were three inductees - Les Fendia ('63), Paul Wilson ('65) and Joe Francis (retired '88). Each now have their names and pictures on the wall in the library, as well as a plaque on a dedicated wall just outside. I have been friends with Les since my sophomore year at Warren. He, his wife and family live in Texas. My wife and I are planning to visit with them next month in Houston. Too, it was fun to see a few of the other guys who were on the cross-country and track teams with me, Les and Paul. This was only the second time I have seen and spoken to Paul since graduation. t; however, he is still racing cars. Paul still lives here in Southern California. Mr. Francis' extended family was in attendance as he passed away a few years ago. Apparently, Mr. Francis was a beloved person at Warren for many years after we all graduated. Much has changed on the old campus. There are many "new" buildings and a beautiful stadium. If we have a 50 year reunion, you might enjoy visiting the campus, if time allows. I had a chance to speak to many of the current students; all of them were eager for me to share as many stories of my/our high school experience with them as time permitted. The old year book was a big hit. Hope this finds all who read this note well and happy! Take care and hope to see you later this year.
