Richard's Story
I live in Lincoln City, Oregon, a small city on the coast, where I am the planning and community development director in the city government. I've been married for 20 years to Jill, who is a sculptor and who also works part-time as a personal trainer. We've been living here for 18 years.
After Annandale I went to college at UCLA, got my masters in public adminstration at Penn State, then got my law degree at Georgetown. I worked as an attorney for the federal courts, then went into consulting with Coopers & Lybrand, one of the former "Big 8" accounting firms. I later worked as general couns...Expand for more
el for a marine conservation organization, followed by starting my own consulting firm focusing on marine issues (primarily, as a result of timing as much as anything else, focusing on oil spill prevention and response). Went into the private practice of law for a few years, then took this job, which I've had for 10 years.
We live a couple of blocks off the beach and about a half mile from a national forest where we often hike. I used to travel a lot for work, but now my trips primarily are to Virginia to see my parents (in Virginia Beach) and my mother-in-law in Vienna, VA, and to Colorado.
