I studied and excelled in auto mechanics while in high school and started a full time job at a Ford dealership within days of graduating in 1971. In 1978 I got a job at Bethlehem Steel where my father, two uncles, brother, sister and cousin also worked. I got married in 1979 and had three children by the time we got divorced ten years later. In 1989 I got custody of the children and for 15 years I had to concentrate on doing the best I could as a single dad.
