Richard's Story
Since High School, I've attended Vistoria College and Texas A&M University. I was employed with a fast-food chain locally until I moved to the metro-Atlanta area in 1987 and operated a new restaurant. I had my first daughter in 1985. My second was born in 1988. My third daughter by marriage was born in 1991. My only son was born in 1994. I enlisted into the Army in 1990. After AIT and attending Basic Airborne School, I was deployed in 1991 to Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. I've attained the rank of Sergeant First Class holding the position of First Sergeant until I was accepted into the Warrant Officer Course. I received my commission as a Warrant Officer in 2001. Freedom twice and Operation New Dawn. I also deployed twice to Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. I served at Fort Bragg, North Carolina for 21 years as an Aviation Officer and Jumpmaster Paratrooper. I completed one tour in Korea. I now am stationed at Fort Hood, Texas serving as a Brigade Aviation Maintenance Officer supporting 21st Cavalry Brigade. I married my current wife, Ronna (Curnutte) Haywood, in April 2008. She was the main reason bringing me home to Texas where I belong. I live in Salado, Texas (a small antique community) about 35 miles north of Austin. I am currenty a Chief Warrant Officer 4 serving our country on Active Duty in the United States Army. Just waiting to see where life will take me.
