John's Story
Life
After doing 4 years in the Army, knew it was time for a change. Lived in Germany for a couple of years and started a family. Wife, son and I moved back to the States where I joined the Coast Guard. After 16 years of flying as a Navigator, eating exotic food, smelling different bars, having a son and daughter, living on both coasts and Hawaii, it was time to come Home. I retired in 2005 and moved back to my first love, West Texas. The deer are so friendly here they jump out in front of my gun sights and the fish leap into the boat. cornor (here in West Texas, that means they are within 250 miles of ya). My wife of 23 years is still by my side, shaking her head as to why I love West Texas. My daughter thinks I'm nuts but that's a dad's job anyway. I've gained a pound a year since high school, woo hoo, up to 136 lbs now. Mellowed out alot too, usually in bed by 9pm (get up for work at 4 am) and Jackie D usually sits on my bar for months. Once we become empty nesters, plan on finishing our tour of the US, still have 7 states I haven't been too. Unfortunatley, most of them are Yankee states and I don't have a hunting license for them, yet.
