Rick's Story

Life Since leaving Blackwood I went to Silicon Valley and spent the next 18 years in high tech, met my wife and raised two kids, a girl and boy. Sun Microsystems offered me a job in Boulder, Co. and in 2001 we moved there. After a short time it went bust and I decided to do something else since high tech was looking grime. I opened a home inspection company in 2002. In 2004 my teenagers (then 15 & 17) announced they hated Boulder and want to be back on the west coast. We had bought investment property in Anacortes, Washington and decided that was the place. We have been here since 2005 and love it. m California named Buni. (Actually it is her legal name ) Out of my 4 brothers and sisters, only my sister Mary remains on the east coast. All others migrated to California in the 1980's. My parent followed in 1995. About the time I went to Colorado, my brother Mark bought a house overlooking the San Juan Islands. I now live 3 miles from him. Yes, we do live on an island but there is a bridge to the mainland. We are avid boaters and love to cruise in the San Juans or in Canada. In 2022, I retired from Pacific Crest Inspections and passed the company to my son Matt. We are now partially retired and still running Pacific Crest Reserves. This allows us to spend time with our grand children and travel. //Rick
