Rick's Story
My job after trade school (Brown Institute) was as a DJ at KTCR-FM (now KTCZ-FM - The Cities). At that time it was a county station. I left broadcasting in the late 70's to try my hand at real estate. I eventually owned my own small real estate brokerage firm, Rick Burnett Realty. I would sometimes get confused with the other larger firm
I eventually ended up working the last 11 years as an Executive VP - Asset Management at Grubb & Ellis, a national commercial property management/investment firm. I now live in Southern CA and have responsibility for a number of assets across the country, including the 1 million square foot Northstar Center in Downtown Mpls.

of me in 1972 at the KTCR-FM studio at the bottom of the home page and you will see some of my broadcast history. Should you want to remember what radio use to sound like during the Brady days, there are many recordings (airchecks) and photos of some the DJ's of the day on WDGY and KDWB, along with many other stations. I was a guest on WCCO's Al Malmberg's show back in 2006 to discuss Twin Cities radio history and Brady High was mentioned in the 1st 30 minutes.
I hope to retire before the age of 90 and stop working 60+ hours a week.
Living in Southern CA has help me to forget the long walks to and from the Twin Cities Bus Lines bus stop. The walk was about 3 blocks and I did not enjoy it when it was 30 below.
