Rick's Story
Rick is now retired and resides in Santa Barbara, California. He graduated from Bel Air High and attended Harford Community College. From 1969 to 1972 Rick was in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of sergeant. His military training included Airborne and Special Forces, and in the fall of 1970 he became a Green Beret. and worked for the daily newspaper, the News-Press (then owned by the New York Times Co.). At the same time he started (and still continues) his free-lance photography business, Richard A. Carter Photography. Rick has volunteered his photography services for many non-profits over the past thirty-five years. He's also had the good fortune to photograph many interesting people from political leaders to Nobel Peace laureates to numerous entertainment personalities.
