Rick's Story
All through high school I was the surfer and beach bum with the perpetually sunburned face who rode a motorcycle and played in a band. I was quite possibly the most intelligent terrible student to ever attend and barely graduate from OHS. However, mostly motivated by avoiding the draft, I did pretty well in college. I then spent a few years working on a Master¿s from the University of Hard Knocks where I not only learned to play the blues, but also to laugh in the face of adversity. And even though I¿ve had to navigate through my fair share of ups and downs, I've managed to experience a lot of things, travel to many awesome places, have many, many adventures, and enjoy a pretty nice life. my living in the music industry as a professional musician and songwriter with my focus being on publishing and licensing my music primarily to motion picture and television productions. I also teach guitar and independently contract as a session guitarist. I am still surfing (my 50th year) and still stoked. I have three grown children, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and a bad back. I have been married twice. Now divorced for twelve years, my beautiful "significant other," Denise, and I have been together for almost five years. We live in Huntington Beach, California where I have been a familiar face, wave hog and resident for many years and I intend to be for many more years to come.
