Rick's Story
After graduating from General Douglas Mcarthur in 1986, I went to Ohio University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Sciences (BSSPS) in 1990. From there I obtained a job working for the Cardio Fitness Center as an Exercise Physiologist. I lived on the upper west side of Manhattan (85th st. between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues). I also worked for Equinox fitness clubs on the upper west side for one year, before moving to California.
I worked for The Sports Club LA for 14 years (July 1993 - September 2007). While there, I further my studies to include postural assessments and gait analysis, and Yoga.
Now, in 2008 I am currently self employed and looking to open my own studio. I am also writing a wellness book, building my web site, business plan, several inventions and I have even begun to write poetry.
My family consists of myself, my wife Shelia, and our two sons Wyatt and West. We live in the San Fernando Valley. It is hot during the summers (100+) and comfortable in the winters. We own our house, or rather have payed a mortgage for six year...Expand for more
s now. I have been married for 10 years this November and am very much in love with my wife and children.
Live has been good for me in California. My dream is to open my Wellness Center (Basic Fitness) and fulfill my mission. My mission is the enrichment of individual lives for the revolutionary awakening of society¿s collective consciousness. To promote lifestyles for wellness by encouraging balanced living and well roundedness. I provide an active educational approach where body, mind, heart and spirit are at optimal functional capacities. I have chosen the title Certified Wellness Professionals (CWP), meaning to restore function through assessments, healthy lifestyle choices and exercise. Active participation and sincere diligence, provides my students with a mastery of knowledge and skillful progressions that serve to strengthen the bonds that make them whole, stable and full of vitality. My aim is for all to obtain freedom from physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pain, discomfort, stress and dis-ease. My mantra is B.A.S.I.C. ¿Be Active Stay In Control¿.
