Richard's Story

Life After high school, I moved back to Long Beach and started my first job while taking classes at LBCC. Then a brief move to the OC happened followed by a major move to Tucson where I lived for five years, working and taking classes at the University of Arizona part time (and sometimes very part time!) In 1982, I returned to Long Beach and a year later started my career with Southern California Gas Company where I had a long and fulfilling career, retiring as the Director of Procurement and Supplier Diversity in 2017. when I moved to Los Angeles and married my now-husband, Brad. We lived together in the same house in the Hollywood Hills until I retired and we moved to Palm Springs - which we love. I am very active in our Palm Springs community and Brad manages our small antiques business. But, our roots in Long Beach are strong. We have our summer place at the Galaxy Towers in Bluff Park. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of Long Beach Heritage, an organization with which I've been involved since the 1980s. I love Long Beach and proud to call it my true home.
