Richard's Story
Life
I am married and have a daughter who is 12. We live in Fort Collins, CO, where I do integrated circuit layout for National Semiconductor. I draw pictures of micro circuits on a computer, in other words. My spare time is taken with hunting, playing trumpet in a band or two, and with ham radio, providing communications for many charity events.

Workplace
I worked for 2 years for a small contracting company as a circuit designer / sim boy / layout, working mostly in the Phoenix area and Austin, TX, then did mask tooling for 2 more years at California Micro Devices in Tempe. In 1995, I got the opportunity to come to Colorado and be out of the Arizona heat, plus do layout, which I really wanted to do. It is a great thing to work in technology and not have to live in a huge city.
