Rick Matta:  

Hello everyone! I promised some friends after my first reunion in 2006, that I would do this. Not much for talking about myself, but if your wondering what ever happened to Rick Matta since 81, let me see if I can explain? But before I do, I will only be on here until Oct 09. I have learned most of our classmates are now on Facebook! So for future communication, please add me on facebook if you wish at rickdmatta on yahoo at facebook! I now reside in Dallas, TX and have since 1987. I came to Dallas from Los Angeles. I Have 4 incredible sons and one beautiful daughter. My oldest son is a Senior in college in preperation for Physical Therapy school or Dental School, still undecided? My second oldest son is a student in Denton, TX. Rick Jr. is majoring in business management. My beautiful daughter is a recent grad of 2009 and will be my third in college. Daddy's girl 4 sure! My two younger son's are 9 and 7 years of age. I was blessed to be given the chance to be a father again a second time around. Career? I'm an Executive V.P. in the healthcare industry. I oversee three outpatient physical therapy clincs in N. Dallas. I have finally started my own business this year. I feel after running other people's businesses over the years, why not start mine. I am very excited about this challenge and am very confident on my journey. The new company is called Pro Athletes Alumni. My up's and down's since 81? I would say that the loss of my oldest son to cancer at the age of 12 was the hardest thing I will ever experience on earth. He was stricked with Leaukemia at the age of 8 and after 4 years of chemo, he lost his battle. I must say I will never overcome this and this world will never be the same. As a very dear friend said to me after his death, that the sky will never be as blue again. One positive that came out of this, was the fact I bacame closer to God.
