Rick's Story
Well, it has been a long winding road... one often less traveled.
After graduation, I started at Pitt with my mathematics scholarship. Pitt was almost too big of a school and suck a change from Donora! i transferred to Cal State.
Got a low number in the draft and to avoid the Army, I enlisted in the Air Force and had a great time there. I specialized in Electronic systems reseach. It lead me to working at NASA - Cape Canavarl on the Apollo project. Had the opportunity to travel the world even to Greenland!
Left the Air Force and returned to Mon Valley to help take care of my mom and go back to Cal State to work on Business Degree. After graduating, i had the opportunity to join with Caterpillar in their Management Program.

many great roles which took me out west to the Rockies and ultimeatly to Peoria IL.
I left Cat a few years ago over a disagreement with the direction of a joint venture. Did some consulting work and am still looking to find that next opportunity hopefully one that will bring me back home to the Mon Valley area.
I have also been envolved in music. I have become a very successful church organist and currently play at a beutiful church on a great 3 manual pipe organ. I lead the singing as well as direct choir. Itg makes me laugh to think back to the old days of Miss Beer's sp? music classes at Donora High.
Well I'm currently in Peoria IL but like I said, looking to find a new opportunity to return back to Western PA to be near to friends and family.
