Rick's Story
Life
I grew up in Pinckney, but moved to Saline in 8th grade and graduated from Saline in 1990. I attended Western Michigan University and graduated from there in 1995 before moving back to Ann Arbor to start my life in the "real world". About a year later I met my future bride and we were married in 1997. She was a Pioneer High School graduate (1988) and a navy vet. Jarrod Van Kirk (Saline 1990) and Steve Gatt (Saline 1989) stood in my wedding.
We moved to North Carolina in 19...Expand for more
98 because of the job market, weather, and affordable housing, and we've been here in the Raleigh-Durham area ever since. Our first and only child was born in 2002 - her name is Emily and she's adorable.
My whole family (parents, sisters and their families) have also moved to North Carolina. Amanda Ford-Ballenger (now Amanda Owens) also lives here, only about 15 minutes away from where I am.
