Rick's Story
Life
Very briefly, after high school went into the Air Force and spent 6 years on active duty and another 24 in the Air Force Reserve, 10 years of that as a crewmember flying out of Charleston AFB SC on C-141 aircraft.
Since graduating, I've lived in Smyrna, Marietta, N. Charleston SC, Sullivans Island SC, the Warner Robins/Perry area, and now down in small, but wonderful Ocilla (GA..
Including both serving in the Air Force and working as a civilian employee, I worked for the Federal Government as civil servant for over 30 years starting at Dobbins in Marietta and the majority of it being down here at Robins AFB in Warner Robins. Most of the years down here at Robins were spent working at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command in what is called Financial Management. Update...I retired from Federal Service on 30 Sep 14 with a little over 33 years of service to our country.

on, and raised my son alone from the time he was about 5 1/2 to the time he went into the Marines. Being a single parent was tough, but I'd have never had it any other way. My hat is off to all of you who have raised your kids as a single parent at some point. I feel your pain. My son turned 18 in July 07 and joined the Marines. He is a true patriot and wanted to serve his country like I did, as well as both grandfathers. After four years of the Marines he's now a civilian and attended ITT Technical Institute in Knoxville, TN studying electronics. He's now seeking a business related degree at an online university while working full-time. Another update...I finally remarried on 27 May 15...she's a wonderful woman and we're very happy together. We both hope that eventually one of our children (I have one, her two) will bless us with grandchildren that we can enjoy and spoil. :-)
That's my life in a nutshell. My life has been full and rewarding, I'm blessed...what more can I say?
