Ricky's Story
I graduated in 1973 and went on to collge and graduate school eventually earning two Masters Degrees (MBA and MFA). I never returned to the area for a varity of reasons. One being the trauma of being one of the first African American Kids to attend elementary (Yellow Branch) and high school (RHS) when they were previously all white. To say that this was "fun" would be an understatement since no one had prepared me or my fellow students for the change and the controversary. e in many cultures with relative ease. However in fairness I can say that there were a few bright spots at RHS, playing in the band and running track and cross country. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled around the world living in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Iceland, Germany, Bahrain, Japan as well as DC, CA, TX, FL. With good fortune I have six children, 4 grandchildren, and have been married and divorced 3 times (I have decided to give up on that process and just enjoy the people who come int o my life.) I currently live in Japan and visit the sates 10r 2 times per year to check up on my kids and my house.
