Life Recently laid off from Diebold, decided to move black to Chicago since that job market is much better than the one in Canton Ohio. Will be back in Chicago on 3/1 moving to the north west side of the city. Got laid off in December. Took three trips back to Chicago to find a place to live. It gets hard to rent something when both you and your wife are unemployed. We paid a year in advance for rent on the place we are moving to. I have been on CareerBuilder and there are some jobs there that fit my needs, I only wonder how big the pay cut will be when I find something. My wife has been unemployed for the last nine months and the only things she has been able to find are entry level sales jobs or commission only sales jobs. Commission only works when you are in your twenties, but not real good when you are in you late fifties. So we hope she will find something decent in the Chicago area. We had a great moving sale and managed to seel a bunch sll my old albums , 45s and cds, as well as computers and various other things as we downsize ourselves to move into a much smaller place than we have been living in. I qualify for unemployment but not until the middle of April after the severance package I got from Diebold.
