Elaine's Story
Life
I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1990. I had a great time there. I raised an incredible son, received a college degree, worked as an RN in a large teaching hospital, bought my first house, learned about different cultures, learned how to shoot a gun, got hooked on red and green chile, learned how to two step and made friends that will last a lifetime. Wow! I was busy.
I moved to Lancaster, CA a few years ago. Now I am off to Reno. I made a lot of friends here, I have learned how to play poker, I have learned how to rumba and I learned some salsa moves, and I have trained to work in a neonatal intensive care unit for the past 3 years. I was lucky enough to have surgery done on my spinal cord at UCLA. I feel that the surgeons and God have given me a second chance.
I have two younger brothers Ed class of 84 and Jason class of 87. I am moving to be closer to Ed and his family. He has a wonderful wife and three children. Now that my son has grown into a young man, I feel the need to be closer to family. My youngest brother lives i...Expand for more
n Virginia. I was born in South Korea, Ed was born in Minnesota, and Jason was born in Canada. So each of us were born in different countries. I have never had the opportunity to meet any of my family in South Korea. So I treasure the family that I have. My father was drafted , my parents came from two different worlds, I did not grow up in a traditional, or stable, home. I also have an older sister. Her name is Chi. I think she was actually my cousin but my parents never really told me the truth. She ran away from home, I have not seen or heard from her in years. One of the reasons I joined classmates is to one day be reunited with her. I miss her. She graduated from JBHS in 1976. I still enjoy something that I have done since childhood and that is dance. I still take classes and dance whenever I can.
I have met with some classmates. I saw Rick Johnston, Brent Griffin and George Blackstone. I have also been in contact with Kevin Kaye and Rick Jones. It was great seeing old, and now new friends. I hope to hear from more classmates.
