Risa's Story

Life If I had to write a bio of myself, I would say that I used to be such a spur-of-the-moment person and that has changed quite a bit. I never thought I would have a child, never thought I would get married and did both in the last 15 years. Because of those two things, I've become quite a planner, an organizer, never do things spur-of-the-moment anymore but I still carry the world on my shoulders (at Emerson it was a back pack filled with everything for the week - any situation), now it is everything that I need for me and my family. For any situation - whether we go away for the day or just do the shopping. Still carry a heavy bag! I used to love music - mainly alternative (or in the 80's that was New Wave or Punk) and still do. That hasn't changed. Yet, I enjoy some of my sons music too (I'll never admit it in person though). I have not lived my dreams yet. I never became a radio superstar like I thought I would in Emerson, instead...Expand for more
I went into publishing. I wasn't too happy there. I think that when I finally start working again, I'll go into the food business. I love to cook these days, write about food, search out interesting food and very good food, I am obsessed with food! I still remain friends with some of my friends from Emerson (4 of them) but would love if others from 78-82 would come out of the woodwork. Yoo-hoo, where are you?? I am thankful to still have these folks in my life. We email and stay in touch. Anyway, other than these things, I am a proud mom of an almost 10 year old boy, 3rd grader (almost 4th), and I have a beautiful house in NJ, with a garden and a vegetable patch (tomatoes and chiles). I am a chile-head and proud of it. I still love to photograph things, mainly my son. Not everything has changed. I am very much the same as I was at the time. Still look the same (except for shorter hair). That is what most folks say when they see me.
