Rita's Story
Life
I own my business doing medical transcription out of my home. I have two children, a girl and a boy and three stepchildren, two girls and a boy. My son is disabled from an accident when he was 3. He is a traumatic brain injury survivor who won the HOPE award for the state of Mississippi. I have two granddaughters,Cheyenne Nicole born February 5, 2002 and Lily Meghan Elise born June 24, 2008. I also have seven step-grandchildren, 5 boys and 2 girls. My other heart is in Lions Club a service organization! Hey we even have Past President of the United States Jimmy Carter as a Lion! I am a Past District Governor in Mississippi and received a Melvin Jones Fellowship and progressive Melvin Jones which is one of the highest honors available in Lions Club. I just finished my 19th year as Head Coach for a disABLED ball league in Ridgeland. I love my volu...Expand for more

School
I consider Byram to be my home as I went to Byram starting in the first grade and went there off an on most of my twelve years. Dad moved us to Florida at the end of my Sophomore year and I graduated in Florida but my heart was at Byram. I have such wonderful memories of friends and happenings at Byram through the years.
College
I had a disabled son during my college time. I have been remarried since leaving and am doing wonderfully well! My son is doing great. Would love to chat with some of my friends from those days. I especially miss Dr. Naftel!
Workplace
The VA was a great place to work. I miss all my friends that I made over the years there. Would love to hear what they are up to now. I own my business now and do medical transcription.
