Rita's Story
After High School, I worked doing Hair in the Winchester area.
In 1989, I married a Texan and we inherited a Cattle Ranch. I raised cattle for 10 years and when the "bull" I was married to became harder to handle than the bulls I was raising...I decided it was time to leave Muenster and head for Houston.
I got a job here right away as an advertising consultant for a local paper...Amazing opportunity to work with and learn from one of the most talented and gifted men in the newspaper business...That's how I became interested in local politics and was an elected officer in our neighborhood Civic Club. I even wrote and distributed a monthly newsletter...
My life has really been a series of adventures and of dreams coming true,...Expand for more
with a couple of horror shows thrown in here and there, just to keep it real...Sounds like a best seller to me...
I planted veggies in my flower beds in honor of all this GREEN crap...I figured if I was gonna get down and dirty...I may as well be able to eat it... Well, hello Victory Garden...Too funny, I have cukes running out towards the road and climbing the fence, running thru my Azaelas and Gardenias...40 pepper plants of too many varieties to mention...8 ft. tall tomato plants...Yellow squash, egg plant, rubarb, watermelon...oh,I planted an herb garden also...anyway...we have had more fun and laughs over these flowerbeds on steriods...I highly recommend it...It tastes better than a marigold and a couple of petunias...
