Rita's Story
Life
No pets, no kids, no husband. Married for 17 years, divorced now for 26years. Live in Abilene with Reba, literally. Have house togetherl. Committed Christian, member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Love to read, usually a book a week. Still extremely close. My best friend.
I'm afraid I'm getting old, but that's okay. I'm afraid I'm gaining weight, and that's NOT okay because I'm not getting any taller. In fact that really sucks, especially because I can't get very excited about exercising!
College
Graduated from the business school there in Harlingen right after high school. Of course, always have been a workaholic, work all the time. Went to some college during my first single years (before marriage). During marriage worked as a transcriptionist for court reporters so went to court reporting...Expand for more
school to learn to read their notes and -- you got it -- work, work, work. Because I worked so much, never finished court reporting school, otherwise I'd be rich now. Oh, well, some of us are chiefs and some indians. Self-employed as transcriptionist for court reporters.
Workplace
Immediately after school worked there in Harlingen until I moved to Corpus Christi and worked as a secretary for an oil company. Eventually quit that and moved back to Harlingen and worked for F. L. Flynn (yeah, Fred Parce's grandpa) for a few years as his secretary/bookkeeper. Then met and married my now-ex and moved to Corpus Christi. Worked again in the oil business until I became a transcriptionist for court reporters and then did that and dabbled at several little part-time jobs all at once (which was really kind of different).
