Rita (Pepsi)'s Story
Life
I left Virginia after graduation and moved to Maryland. Got a job in the Pentagon as a Special Forces Combat Instructor. After Viet Nam, I worked for the Gov't Printing Office in Personnel. Got married in 1972, but he died unexpectedly in 1975. I had one little baby girl with him. I moved to Florida in 1979, had enough of the cold! Remarried had another little girl. Became a Sheriff's Deputy down here for 7yrs. Got shot and fell wrong, had 11 spinal operations and now back to my ole self (except for constant pain). Husband #2 left once I got hurt! Now I have remarried, (15yrs)to a great guy with 3 kids. All the kids are grown now and out of the house. But they do seem to come back for short stays between broken marriages and lack of place to stay. My husband and I own a dealership for ...Expand for more
transport refrigeration units, we work alot but I really like it! I'm running for office in our district come 11/2. Never thought that I would be involved in politics but I really soak it up! Glad I took Civics in high school! I currently sit on the REC for my county. I'm a director for our Landowners Assoc. and a member of the National Assoc. of Executive Females. Plus...get this guys! I'm in the Manchester Who's Who because as an V.P. of Operations in this company of ours apparently I'm one of the few females that can rebuild a Di engine and 4 cylinder compressor. If someone had of told me 20 yrs. ago that I would be a mechanic I would have said "get out of here no friggin' way!" As you can see my life has come full circle from Karate Classes in PIE groups!
