Ritch's Story
After Cleveland, I went to UCLA and graduated with a degree in psychology. My first job after graduating was working in a fire camp in Glendora with hard core delinquents placed there by the juvenile court as a last chance effort before being sent to prison.
Realizing this was not a dream career, I went back to grad school at USC and eventually ended up working at Lockheed in Burbank. I went later to Rockwell and then back to Lockheed before my wife, Tia Gindick, and I concluded that we wanted something different in our lives.
We quit work, sold everything we owned and moved to Paris. We did some writing for the L.A. Times, bought a VW bus and trave...Expand for more
lled through Europe and North Africa and then rented a home in the south of France for about six months.
After a year away, we returned to LA and our "normal" lives for a year before relocating to Monterey, CA.
I went back to grad school for a new degree and eventually ended up as the head of Adult Protective Services. Tia went to work for the Sheraton Hotel chain for several years and then started her own PR business. We both retired last year....and now our career is having a blast travelling to see new places and old friends. Just came back from a month in Australia. Will be skiing now until April and then in May we head off for Greece and Turkey.
