Riva's Story
Life
Riva Weinstein is a Hudson Valley artist and writer whose work embodies themes of nature, ritual and everyday sacredness. She works with non-traditional, recycled, and natural materials.
Seeds of Peace: 18 Life Affirming Found Objects from Nature, is a part of the Smithsonian permanent collection. Her work has been featured at the Los Angeles Craft Museum gift shop, in the Los Angeles Times, and has been selected for exhibition in juried group shows including the Los Angeles Biennial. Her good luck charms and talismans are sold at fine art and craft fairs.

Medicine Workshops, she helps others explore and express their creative magic medicine. She has taught karate, creativity, art and writing to children and adults in New York and Los Angeles.
Riva has worked as a creative consultant and held corporate positions as an advertising copywriter, a public relations consultant and arts administrator.
She is currently at work on Magic Medicine: The Art of Personal Talismans from her home in New YorkÂs majestic, magical, mystical Hudson River Valley, where she lives with her partner Larry and their cat Simon who comes when they whistle.
