Life
My Spouse
We met at Rec Park in Arlington Heights playing volley ball in January 1991. I was new to the facility and he chose me on his team. After avoiding a relationship with him for 4 years, I finally called him and said we should get together. We were engaged 6 months later and married in May 1996.
My Pets
Our dog, Tucson, is a shepherd mix. We adopted her from Kay's Animal Shelter. She is hyper and likes to run around a lot. She barks too much, but is really sweet and likes to play. She also learns tricks quickly. She catches icecubes, does the bunny hop and all sorts of neat things.
Our cats - Taffy, Taz and Timber are all different. Taffy has mood swings, Taz is a scaredy cat and Timber is mischevious.
Our hamster, Jake, is a rodent and pain in the butt.
My Kids
My husband and I adopted Jessie in July 2000. She is now 13 and really sweet, but also a handful. She has a temper and likes to get her way. Adopting an older child is a lot of work, but the rewards are fanta...Expand for more
stic. If you ever considered adopting or foster parenting and would like to talk about it, send me an email and we can get together to discuss.
School
I am married to the greatest guy in the world and we adopted a daughter (Jessie)when she was 13 years old. She just turned 16 a few weeks ago. We have learned that being the parent of a teen is kind of crazy and an awful lot of work - but at least I remember what it was like as a teen and she can't get away with all the stuff I did.
We have 1 dog and 2 cats and are always doing something to keep us on the go.
I am a youth minister and work a lot of odd hours. I love working with teens, doing service projects and hanging out. I guess you could say I never grew up.
I worked my way through undergraduate and graduate school and am actually still trying to complete my synthesis project at Loyola University. I spent 10 years working in business and decided that I was called into ministry with teens and so, I changed careers and vocations.
