Rob's Story
Life
Well here's the highlights: Debbi and I are enjoying our 37th year of marriage. No kids and many of our pets have passed on. Still living on Tyler, near Marshall, going on 39 years now. Will be leaving the old neighborhood now that both my parents have passed away. Unfortunately, my mom lost her two year battle with ovarian cancer on 8-6-07, at age 85, and my dad, passed at age 96. It's a great day to be alive! That's my opinion of every day since my motorcycle accident back in Oct. 96 and a long two year recovery. I still ride, but not that way anymore. In 2000, I graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Myers University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and in 2005 earned my Masters in Financial Planning. Now the big question is, do I commit to earn a PhD. Surprisingly school is more interesting now, just not as much fun. ent of Defense (DoD) at Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). I still stay in touch with Ray Chappell, Ken Beutel, and others. Looking forward to another opportunity to see the rest of you at the next reunion. Bye for now!
College
Well my Graduate Program is completed and the Masters in Financial Planning has been earned, now the big question is, do I go on to earn the Doctorate. I found that my educational experience, later in life, is simply more gratifying. I've come to realize that education is an exercise for the mind. A secondary benefit to education is that it creates new opportunities. A 94 year old gentleman said that his secret to staying healthy was in keeping his brain busy learning and keeping his body moving! I'll take that advice!
