John (Robbi)'s Story

I am (Robbi) John Painter. I attended Parker High School in the 8th grade and prior to that, Monaghan Elementary School for grades 1-7. After moving to Columbia, S. C. I attended Olympia High School for part of the 8th grade. After that we moved to Charlotte and I attended Hawthorne Junior High School in the 9th grade and then on to Central High School in the tenth grade. In 1957' I moved to Channelview, Tx . And attended the 11th & 12th grades and graduated there in the class of 1959. I attended Lee Junior College several semesters and many other learning experiences, not forgetting the school of Hard Knox. In 1972 after working for Upjohn Co. for 8 years, I started Channel Machine Works which later became Enpro Systems Inc. Worked with this endeavor for 36 years and sold to the Curtiss Wright Corp. in 2006 and retired. I was in the Texas Air Nat'l Guard 147th Unit for 6 years, 1962-1968. I worked with Upjohn Co. from 1962-1975. We were active in National Tooling & Machining Association for over twenty years and I was privileged to be President. I have been in Rota...Expand for more
ry Int'l since 1984 and served as Governor of Dist. 5890 in 1999-2000 and continue to be a member of The Rotary Club of North Shore (Houston). Diane Painter and I have been married for 14 years and share three children, Jeri Powell, Ben & Brad Painter and three grandchildren. Diane is a retired teacher of 30 years with the Galena Park Independent School Dist. We travel extensively and enjoy friends all over the world. We continue to hunt and fish all over the world. We reside in Houston ,TX and have lived in the same home since 1984. We have enjoyed working with many projects in the US and foreign countries helping to eradicate poverty & hunger as well as housing for those without. We travel to Columbia, SC annually for our Cusions Reunion. My sister, Mary Ann Humpries, resides there. My brother Jerry Michael Painter resides in Rock Hill, SC and brother Derrill Timonthy Painter resides in Channelview, TX. I joined Classmates.com in order to connect with those acquaintances of past years that have not been forgotten but due to life's circumstances have separated us.
