Robert (Bob)'s Story
Life
Born in Burbank, CA in 1959, I was raised with 3 siblings in the San Fernando Valley. Yes, THE valley, dude!
School
The acting bug bit me in the 5th grade, and continued following my dream to be an actor throughout grade school. I spent the first 10 weeks of my tenth grade at Chatsworth High, where I co-starred along-side Val Kilmer in a class presentation of "Star-Spangled Girl". We moved to the Reseda area, and I had to (reluctantly) change high schools. There are only two teachers I remember at Grover Cleveland High School (both for very different reasons) are "Ms Vicky" Victoria Francis for giving me my footing in acting and nudging me towards pantomime (first time out in the drama festival, I got 2nd place in Individual Pantomime!), and Mr. Deters (Biology) for reasons I don't want to mention here. Training
After graduating from high school, I worked a few years as a cook in a variety...Expand for more
of restaurants in the SoCal area, then joined the Air Force in 1979 where I was trained as a mechanic. I was first stationed in Florida, where I worked on equipment outside in the one hundred degree heat to keep the computers and the computer operators cool. My next assignment was in Germany, where I worked on equipment outside in the below freezing cold to keep the computers and the computer operators warm. It became obvious to me that I was on the wrong side of the computers! My first true love, acting, never took a back seat, though. At each base I was stationed, I searched for the nearest theater and continued acting in plays. Starting in 1980, I entered the Air Force Talent Contest, where you can compete at the local level, all the way up to the USAF level, where you become eligible to tour with the Air Force's elite group, Tops in Blue.
Occupation
At 9 years, I got out and worked at several jobs as a Computer Operator.
