Robert's Story

It's been a while since I updated my information so here it goes. I am still living in northern Japan but have thought about returning to the USA but then the killing, stealing, and being harassed by the police changed my mind to stay put. I have a few medical problems but still kicking by the grace of the Lord. I visited my daughter in Las Vegas and my son in Dallas last November. I had a wonderful time but did not have enough time to visit Nashville. I like being retired in Japan. My health insurance is only 10 percent, plus being over 70 years old has a lot of benefits being here. My wife and I just travel the country, plant my garden, and Bar B Q with family and friends. I will post some new pictures soon. I will think about coming to the reunion also. Life I am a retired U.S. Air Force Member living in Northern Japan. I have lived in Japan now for 37 years but now I plan to stay forever. I have a small business named Bikei Services that includes import/export, travel, and home care & services. I normally travel during the winter months but mostly stay home and enjoy the cold and snow from the house. I enjoy cooking and baking so I am a house dad until my wife retire and then we will travel all over this beautiful country of Japan. If you need to contact me and if you have a computer, you can call me on skype.com(bikei60) or call my Nashville phone number(615-866-1300). My Japanese business phone is (81)9023667651. Well I am still here atleast for 2 more years. My wife is planning to retire next year and we will wait a year more to see if our son will return to work here after El Paso. If no return we will try and sell our house and move somewhere in the states. The earthquake was about 400 miles south of us but we felt the big shake and was without power for a week but I was lucky because I have generators for my business so we made it ok. If any of you come this way just give me a ring and I will do my best to see you. Getting older but feel great but I am having a problem with the old knees. I have a friend that is 84 years old that get around better than me, sometimes I have to get him to come down off the house or slow down helping me. They inspire me and if I can get the knees replaced this year I will be just like him. The Japanese are the longest living people on earth and it's mostly their diet. I love japanese food and can cook it very well but I still have a hanker or some good old southern greens and I have a friend that grows them just for me. er vacation. My wife and I are so happy to see her, she makes our days on earth worth living for. it's June and we still have the heat on some at night, just wish summer would hurry and come before Fall.. Will talk again in 6 months. I hope to see some of you soon. May God Bless. Well I am still here and it look like I will spend the rest of my life here. Our kids do not know where they want to live and my son is trying to return to Japan so we will not sell our house and just be happy here and make visits to the USA. I had double knee replacement surgery in March and getting around much better, still in pain but I feel great. Wish I had hair, its cold here in the winter, we just had our first snow and the mountain ski resorts are open so winter is here. Enjoyed our recent vacation to the USA last month. Visited our daughter in Las Vegas and my son now works at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. It look like he will be there for 2 years and we hope they will come home after he finish there. It is good to be back home. All my landscapping equipment is up for the winter and I am on a 6 month break. Well that is it. Will write more soon. Well, just turn 76 and still here in Japan but since my wife and I have no more family here and soon my son and his family may transfer to another location we have decided to sell our house once he leave Japan and move to the USA to be near to our daughter and her family but near their home in Las Vegas, say a few hundred miles away but we are worried about all the trouble in the USA. Here where I live is very low crime, nice location and we love it here. The drawback is the weather, it's always cool here with heavy snow winters but the people are nice and no one bothers us. We are both retired now and have a good income to make it on so life is good for us here but if something happen to us we are a long way from family, but just a thought. I have a few health problems but still fell great. The health system here in Japan is great and since I am over 75 I only pay ten percent of the bill and my military system pay the remainder. The hospitals here are great and they have the latest equipment so that is a plus for living in Japan. After this virus thing is over we are planning a month long trip thru out Japan. We are also planning a trip to Las Vegas and I also will try and visit Nashville and Washington DC to see family. I really would like to see some of my classmates if possible. Well this is my latest update on my life after Pearl High School. I will post some new pictures later.
