Our granddaughter, Harper Ly Foy, was born one month early on 9/20/15 with a very rare, genetic skin condition called Harlequin Ichthyosis. For more information you can Google Harper Ly Foy and/or visit FIRST (Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types). We had never heard of this before Harper was born. It has been very enlightening and at times scary and heartbreaking. There is no cure!
Great Grandbaby Barrett born June 7, 2014 with Spina Bifida is beating all the odds and doing amazing!
Bob's oldest daughter, Kim, got married August 23 , 2014.
Bob and I have been married for 13 years and have a blended family. We have six children; 14 grandchildren and on June 7, 2014 we were blessed with our 3rd great grandchild, Barrett. Barrett was born with spina bifida but has been a fighter from the beginning and is doing beautifully. He has enriched our lives in so many ways and we feel he truly is a gift from God.
I just celebrated my 62nd birthday and am now inducted into the world of SSI. I retired last year after spending the past 40 plus years working in the Financial industry both as a banking specialist and as a teacher (three years with Bellingham Vocational Technical College) and then moving on to the mortgage side of banking as an escrow specialist. I left banking and have spent 19 years in the Cable Communications industry as an analyst.
I have lived both on the East coast in Virginia from July 1970 to March 1981 and then the West coast settling within the Seattle area footprint. Bob and I live north of Seattle in Marysville, WA.
Bob and I enjoy traveling - camping in our Class C RV and cruising. ...Expand for more
Bob enjoys woodworking, gardening and anything else that keeps his mind and hands active. I enjoy scrapbooking, gardening and reading although the latter doesn't happen too often. We are also both very family focused and spend as much time as we can with our children and grandchildren.
Our journey has taught us to Live; to Love; to be Compassionate; to share with Others less fortunate; to give back to our community by volunteering (most recently with the OSO mudslide where we lost people we knew) and then just a few months later dealing with the loss of several high school students at the hands of a friend and family member to many - Marysville Pilchuck High School) and to be accountable for our actions. We believe that others learn by our own example so therefore, we try to be good, kind, loyal, loving people. We believe that what you give comes back to you ten fold and our friends and family have enriched our lives in ways we never knew they could. We feel honored to be called Mom and Dad; Grandma and Grandpa; Papa and Grimmie; Brother; Sister; Friend'.
In 1994 my journey and endurance led me to learn more about my birth family. This brought us to find several sisters and brothers along with a whole lot of family - aunts, uncles, cousins. It has been a journey of many tears and heartache but the rewards of finding family and learning to love in mid life has been amazing. I plan on spending a lot of my retirement spending time with these new found family members!
I recently got into StampinUp to support my habit and I love, love, love Project Life.
You can find me by going to the stampinup website and then typing in my name.
