Robert's Story

Life I think we all wrote our autobiography in the 8th grade, so this is an update. After graduating from Kent State I went into the army, decided I liked it, and stuck around for 21 years. I had a great career, travelled around the world, and except for a year in combat in Vietnam (1969), it was just like going to work every day. One major difference, I guess, is that not everyone gets to work in Germany or in the Pentagon. Anyway, I retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant Colonel and am now working for the Department of Homeland Security, training Customs and Border Protection officers on how to detect contraband in cars, trucks and containers entering the United States. Sharing all my adventures these past 39 years- my wife Marcie (BHS67) and daughters Katie (1971), Maggie (1973) and Son, Josh (197...Expand for more
7), born in Kentucky, New Jersey, and Virginia, respectively. To one degree or another, they have lived in several places around the world, and have picked up the culture of many places--an advantage, I believe. Except for two years back in Kent when I was in graduate school, we've lived away from Brooklyn. Katie and her husband, Tim, live in Centreville, VA with their two daughters, Maggie lives in Maine with her husband, Andy and their son, and Josh lives in Arlington, VA with his wife, Ginnette. I guess the only downside I've had was a heart attack in May of 2002, but I've recovered and live a "normal" life---with medication, of course. I plan to work for a couple more years, or until it's no longer fun, and play golf as often as possible. Get in touch. I'd love to hear from you.
