Robert's Story

Life Bob Carlson brings a wealth of Yield Management experience to Clients. Early in his 30 year career at IBM, he developed IYM concepts and Yield Management techniques. Later, Bob managed teams of managers and engineers. In the early 80’s, his teams brought on line the world’s first 5 inch CMOS fab and piloted the first yielded 8 inch wafers. ed the fastest, densest bipolar memory and logic products for IBM mainframes. These products used the industry’s first poly trench and poly emitter processes and back-end 4-level Al-Cu-Si metal/CMP/Tungsten Stud (plug) processes. In the early 90’s, Bob was part of the IBM Global Services organization providing Lean Manufacturing concepts to clients. In 1994 he left IBM to provide industry Cycle Time and Yield Management consulting. He joined HPL Technologies in 1999 as a Senior Consultant.
