Robert's Story

After graduation I enlisted in the Air Force making it a career for a lot of reasons. Patricia Nelson and I married a year later and over the next twenty year we raised three wonderful daughters and were lucky to adopt and Alaska Native Son. After retirement, I'm sorry to say Pat and I divorced, I'm thankful we remain friends, enjoy nine Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren. Pat continues to live in Alaska near our youngest daughter. After retiring from the Air Force as a Safety Professional I co-owned an ATV Rider's Training Program and Course. Then I became an OSHA Compliance Officer number of years, remarried and left Alaska for the Oregon coast. I was called to the Alaska Prudhoe Bay Oil and Gas industry as an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Professional for the next 20 plus years. en COVID hit and travel between Washington and Alaska became intolerable I started my move to Missouri. In 2020 I moved from Vaughn Bay to Warsaw, Missouri just a short distance from my second daughter. I will always be a Washingtonian. I will miss the Northwest, family and friends, just not the cost of living or the politics. I thought I would retire, but didn't like it much. So, I'm back to work again at an aluminum casting plant as the EHS Manager. I enjoy my children and grandchildren, while continuing to travel and ride my motorcycle. I enjoy music, the older and some of the newer Country, Rock-N-Roll, Oldies (of-course), Blues and Jazz. Although, I enjoy dancing there does not seem to be any dance venues around here. They have not come back in this area, because of COVID I guess. Not that you see any evidence of COVID ever existing in Missouri, thank goodness. Life is good at the grand old age of 73!
