Robert's Story
Robert is from Pontiac, Michigan. He is married to Elaine Szalay Cornforth.whom he met after his first wife passed away after 52 years. His schools include Pontiac Central High School. He later attended Oakland University (Machinest), Oakland Community College (Welding). He works(ed) at Pontiac Motor Div Gm, Douglas Aircraft Company.
Robert's interests include The Phoenix Coyotes, the AZ Diamondbacks, and the AZ Cardinals.
He quit high school in his senior year to join the Army to get the WW II GI Bill. Served 3 years, 2 1/2 of which were in Panama. He returned to Pontiac Sr High in the summer of 1950 even though he had received a GED through USAFI while in Panama...Expand for more
, but was called back to active duty when the Korean war broke out in 1950. Released from active duty in November 1951 on points, he returned to Pontiac Motor until Feb 1952 when he and his first wife, Ruth (Nord) moved to California where they lived until 1963 when he returned to Pontiac Motor as a journeyman Tool and Die Maker.
Robert was ordained into the ministry in 1962 and helped many drug addicts through prayer, as well as making many trips overseas to foreign missions. most of them in South America. Ruth passed away in June 2003. He is still semi active in the ministry as a part time chaplain in the VFW d he currently lives in Sun City, AZ with his wife Elaine,
