Robert's Story
Life
I didn't actually graduate RHS, but I lived in the area and did most of my schooling there. I remember at least half of the people on this list before me. We moved out of the area in November 1972 during our 15 day break. If you remember me and feel like it drop me a line.
We moved to Radcliff in November of 72 and I was part of the Great Class of '75 when we finally Beat E-town. I went to U of Louisville and graduated in '80 and then enlisted in the Air Force. Spent 3.5 years at Seymour Johnson in the 336 and 337 AMU. Cross trained to be a C-5 flight engineer which didn't work out, I went back to crewing fighters at Langley in the 71st for 3 years. Got transferred to Kadena AB Okinawa for 3 years in the 67th AMU then back to Langley in the 94th for 2 years. I went back to Kadena and the 67th for another three years, got married to my current wife and finally procreated. I returned to Langley for the final three years mostly in the OSS. Retired and am looking for a real job. I got on with Defense Logistics Agency and I'm working as a Quality Assurance Specalist in Richmond VA.

My best memories were mainly TDY starting with my first trip to Ramstein AB, Germany in 1981 during which terrorists set off a bomb at USAFE Head Quarters, I was on the other side of the base at the time. Then to Key West where the 337th took over a closed hospital for the enlisted and the crew chiefs took over the pool where the pilots stayed. My last stop on my last trip as an engineer was to Air Fete at Mildenhall England. My time with the 71st had 4 good trips, to Alborg, Denmark, Roosevelt Roads Peurto Rico, Vegas, and Panama City Fla (Tyndall AFB), The last good trips were from my first trip to Okinawa. I was on fighter alert at Osan AB, during the last 2/3 of Desert Storm, I was on the Final Cope Thunder to Clark AB, Philippines (I was one of the last crew chiefs out), and Cope Thunder to Elmendorf AB, AK when Mt Spur erupted while we were there.
