Robert's Story
Well, I have been living in the Austin, TX area for the past 18 years (since 1991). I taught special education for the Round Rock Independent School District for 6 years, 3 years at a Juvenile Justice Center, and have been principal at the Georgetown Alternative Program (disciplinary campus) for the past 10 years. I have been married to a beautiful school teacher for 13 years and have 2 kids (Emma- 9, and Jack - 8). We have a cat named Skeeter and we like to go fishing whenever we get the chance, which isn't often enough. I still stay in touch with Dean Carpenter, Doug Gregory, Boyd Drenckhahn, Gerald Holm, and recently Joe Devine and Marty Setness from PHS via fantasy football league where I finished last. Marty won it all though! I obtained my Masters of Education in 1999 so that I could become a principal and someday may go on to work on my Doctorate in Education. I hope to be able to attend our 25th Class Reunion as I have not been able to attend any of the previous ones. I am 43 years old and still feel like I am in my 20's.....maybe 30's. I haven't changed much from high school other than some gray hair, a few wrinkles, and a few more pounds on and off (I have been anywhere from 225 d...Expand for more
own to 182 over the past 10 years). My parents are both deceased - mom in 1999 and dad in 2001; both died too young, not even reaching 60 years old. My brother Dave, also a Park graduate, is currently the Director of Communications for USA Hockey and gets to travel alot. He has been there about 5 or 6 years now and we love to go visit him and his family in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I don't have any fancy toys and live a pretty simple life - working a lot and spending time with the family are my two main activities.......with occasional fishing trips in between. I love living in Texas and probably would not ever move back to Minnesota....too damn cold! I still enjoy playing basketball whenever I can but usually it is just with my students at school. My Sergeant Major and I are undefeated in 2 on 2 for the last 10 years at school so I guess that is pretty cool. We don't get a lot of stellar athletes at our school though so we tend to beat the students because they are typically not very good nor do they typically play team ball very well.
