Robert's Story
Hi Guys, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I went to Gaithersburg HS through 1964. My Mom and I moved to California in the summer of 1964. I really hated my new school. There were no windows in the classrooms, and a drainage ditch surrounding the school that I referred to as the "moat" . It had a security guard and counselors that didn't care about the students. Maybe there were just too many students for them to handle. Anyway I decided to enlist in the Navy in 1965. I got my first job in accounting and it worked out well for me. I was eventually promoted to Controller. I held a few other positions as controller/CFO, all the while I kept my feet in photography. I moved to Georgia in 1990 to work with my brother as his CFO. This did not work out, so in 1996 I made the leap and took a full-time position as a photojournalist for the local newspaper and shot weddings on the side. I loved this. I got to meet a great deal of celebrities, politicians, sports figures, even met Prince Philip. I retired in 2013 and we moved to Las Vegas.
