Robert's Story
Life
Where to start? Left High School early, Worked some different jobs for about five years. Started my job at Kensington Laboratory as a machinist in '89. Moved to Santa Rosa in '93 and did the commuter thing for a year and a half and decided to get a job closer to home.
Worked at a few different job shops in Santa Rosa and ended up getting laid off in '99. Big economic down turn!! Went to work as a welder because most machine shops were slowing down and doing lay offs. I did the welding job at Rapistan Dematic for about a year and was promoted to production control. My first cube job!
I worked in their office for about a year and had the opportunity to go back into machining at Agilent (HP) which is where I had the experience and could earn more money. Started to work there...Expand for more
in 2002 right at the start of the dot com crash. My timing was impeccable. I made it three years and was finally laid off in '03.
I did some soul searching and realized I needed a career that wasn't tied so closely to the economy and wouldn't be shipped out of state or overseas. Water treatment that's the one.
I headed back to school with kids half my age did the work, 3.87GPA (why didn't I do that in high school instead of partying?) And landed a job in my hometown. The job is going great, the people are great to work with.(they may be reading this) Life is grand. I own 40 acres near Redding that I escape to often.
There is a bunch of other stuff in there I left out. Motocross racing, many girlfriends, many cars, many motorcycles, and many friends but that is it in a nutshell.
