Life Upon my return from Viet Nam in 1968 I married and had two daughters. While working as a carpenter I entered college. After completing college in 1974 I obtained my general contractors' license and worked exclusively for commercial developers. My first marriage ended in 1977. In 1979 I accepted a position with Thrifty Corporation as Owners representative responsible for construction, public liaison, and architectural coordination. My responsibility consisted of Thrifty Drug Stores, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Trak Auto Supply, and Crown Book stores. In 1984 I joined Shapell Commercial and Industrial Corporation and served as the Director of Construction. I was responsible for commercial and industrial projects.
