Cass Tech Class of '59, I attended Cass Tech for the 10th, 11th and 12th grades in the Auto-Aero curriculum. It's hard to believe that 50 years have passed but looking back on my Cass Tech years I have to admit that they had quite an effect on my future. While I did not distinguish myself academically at Cass Tech, the education I received there did prepare me for life. I did attend Wayne State University for two years. However I did not finish my Engineering degree. Trying to hold down a part time job, keep my car running and commuting across town to WSU just got to be a bit overwhelming. I left college in 1961 for a four year obligation in the U. S. Air Force. At the time the Vietnam War was looming and I preempted the draft by signing-up for four years. As it turns out it was a great decision as the Air Force trained me as an electronic technician which prepared me for employment with IBM when I finished my tour in July of 1965.
