Robert's Story

I've got one son from my first marriage, and three step-children from my happy second marriage to Susan (Madigan) from Buffalo (Riverside High School, 1975.) We are both kind of ignoring our first marriages, although, of course, we are quite happy with our children from them. I got degrees in History and Political Science from U.B., and obtained my permanent Secondary Social Studies Teaching Certificate from NY State. But, after student teaching at Lew-Port, that was enough of that for me! Let us just say that they were NOT like the (relatively) well-behaved students that WE were at LaSalle The first third of my adult life, I used my J.D., and practiced law in the City of Buffalo, NY. I was a General Practitioner, concentrating in Crminla Law, Family Law, and Personal Injury Law, with quite a bit of litigation in all areas. This was from 1979-1994. I actually spent 2 years in the Niagara County District Attorney's Office during that time - protecting Niagara Falls and Wheatfield from criminals (like all of my High School friends?) The second third of my life, I am using my M.B.A., and am a Senior Project Manager, currently with Huntington Copper, LLC, a management consulting firm. I was previously with a much larger firm, but both do the same thing. I travel all over the country to clients who need help in fixing t...Expand for more
heir disfunctional small to medium sized businesses. While there, usually for 4-12 weeks per engagement, I help/guide/teach them in re-structuring their company, engineering the structure for ease of operations, and putting in place policies, procedures and tools to properly manage their companies and actually produce a pre-designed Net Profit. A LOT of travel is involved, and I am really only home on weekends, except for the frequent vacations I take. I have been to every state in the Union except for the always elusive Idaho, and have worked in every state east of the Mississippi, and quite a few west of the Mississippi, too. (All those other western states I was in usually involved vacations.) The third third of my life, I plan on using my golf clubs. The plan is: I win the Lottery, I "retire" to Florida, and I play golf every day (and drink a few beers, too!) I will NOT go to "early bird specials," but will rather purposely eat late in the evening in order to maintain the illusion of youth. I of course will enjoy the Florida tradition of wearing shorts everywhere you go, and never wearing socks. And I will start to complain about how cold it is when it drops into the 60's, like they all do. Well, that's the plan, anyways . . . I would also consider George Costanza's job with the Yankees were it to become available.
