Doorman/Bouncer - Bunratty's - Live Rock & Roll 7 nights a week. Allston, MA 1978-1979. Local Rock Bands, some Blues and a little Funk mixed it up with Punk and New Wave bands.
Manager Tech Hifi, Newbury Street, Back Bay, Boston, MA 1979-1983. (Hours 11 am to 9 pm, then off and walk to the Clubs)
The Tech Hifi I worked at was one block down Newbury Street from the Cars recording studio, Synchro Sound. Over the years, I wound up selling the Manager and most of the band members stereo and video equipment. I even installed a stereo system in the lounge of the Cars¿ and got to sit with the band to listen to the Master of Shake It Up just prior to the pressing of the album in 1981.
During the time I worked at Tech Hifi several new technologies emerged and we sold: the Walk-Man cassette personal stereo, CDs, Laser Disk (pre-cursor to the DVD), VHS video recording equipment, VIC 20 and VIC 64 personal computers, and Video Cameras.

National acts playing live.

Moved to San Francisco in August 1983. Lived in the Castro District at the corner of Market and 18th Street for 9 years and then in a Twin Peaks neighborhood after I got married. This was about a mile or two from the Haight Ashbury District which I frequented often. I was able to ride my bike to Golden Gate Park which was a great place to hang out and see bands play, play soccer, horseshoes and , see buffalo, go to the Science Museum, go to the Asian Art Museum
I chose the apartment location so as to facilitate my bike ride to law school. It was a pretty straight down-hill shot riding on Market Street to Fifth and Mission Streets, with no major hills in the way. The ride home with a 30 lb. packpack was not as nice. When the weather was bad, I was abel to take a Calble Car, bus or subway (BART) to get to school.
